Over the years, I’ve amassed quite the self help selection of books. I’ve always been an avid reader and always interested in improving myself and healing old wounds. I wanted to share some of the books I’ve read that have helped me love myself, improved my outlook on life, forgive those who have hurt me, and even one that taught me how to practice the art of gratitude.

  1. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is a book that I highly recommend. I started reading this book when I was in a deep depression and was struggling to find my way. I realized that most of my problems were because I was living in the past and that I had a control issue. This book truly helped me to break down my walls and see the world in the moment that I was living in.
  2. Peace from Broken Pieces by Iyanla Vanzant is soul stirring. Honestly, anything written or spoken from this woman is worth reading and hearing. You can feel the anointing on her life and know that she is a true healer. Please check any of her books out as fast as you can!
  3. The Magic by Rhonda Byrne taught me what gratitude is all about. I never understood that gratitude is a gift that you give to yourself and is a magnet for miracles. When I started to practice gratitude, my life changed for the better. What’s great too is that there are little exercises in each chapter to help guide you and teach you how gratitude can create happiness and abundance.

Other books that have positively affected my life are A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Yesterday, I Cried by Iyanla Vanzant, and Seat of The Soul by Gary Zukav. What are some books that have influenced and positively affected your life?
